New Biodegradable Mulching Films for Strawberry (Fragaria × Ananassa Duch.): Effects on the Volatile Profiles of the Fruit

نویسندگان

چکیده

The effects of mulching films on the profiles volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from two strawberry cultivars, namely Elide and Sabrina, were evaluated by headspace solid-phase micro-extraction coupled to gas chromatography mass spectrometry (HS-SPME/GC-MS). Strawberries grown biodegradable films, named N5 N18, in comparison black polyethylene (PE). PCA models, separately performed VOCs dataset showed that observations for each three lie corresponding regions plot, suggesting represented main source data variation, hence, variability profile induced overcame cv-related one. For both a higher number with positive impact “sweet” taste sensation consumers’ preference positively correlated strawberries produced compared PE. However, there was an interaction between type cultivar mulches, as responded better N18 while Sabrina only N18. Altogether, these results could contribute assessing putative markers desirable sensory perception acceptability strawberries.

Salinity, Supplementary Calcium and Potassium Effects on Fruit Yield and Quality of Strawberry (Fragaria ananassa Duch.)

Fruit set and quality in strawberry cv. Selva were influenced by salinity (NaCl) and supplementary calcium and potassium (CaSO , CaCl , K SO ) treatments applied to the root medium of plants growing in 4 2 2 4 soilless culture under heated greenhouse conditions. Yield components such as primary fruit weight and fresh fruit weight (at harvest time) and fruit number were higher in control and the...

The Effects of Carbohydrate Source and Concentration on Somatic Embryogenesis of Strawberry (Fragaria x ananassa Duch.)

This experiment was performed to evaluate the effects of different types and concentrations of carbohydrate source on callus fresh weight, number of somatic embryos per embryonic explant and percentage of globular embryos developing into cotyledonary embryos from the leaf explants of three strawberry cultivars (Kurdistan, Paros and Camarosa). MS medium containing 1.0 mg/l 2,4-dichlorophenoxyace...

New findings in strawberry (Fragaria × ananassa Duch.) anther culture

In this research, some independent experiments were carried out for investigating the effects of microspore developmental stage, bud pretreatments (cold, heat and Ca), and embryo induction medium on anther culture of some strawberry cultivars. The results showed that the percentages of responsive and embryogenic anthers in cultivar Paros in liquid medium were influenced not only by different de...

Chlorophyll fluorescence in two strawberry (Fragaria x ananassa Duch.) cultivars Fluorescencja chlorofilu u dwóch odmian truskawki (Fragaria x ananassa Duch.)

The study of chlorophyll fluorescence (CF) parameters i.e.: Fo, Fm, Fv/Fm, Y, qP, qN, F’o, F’m was conducted in two strawberry cultivars ‘Honeoye’ and ‘Teresa’. Measurements of their values were done twice: in an early autumn and late spring. Fluorescence of five dark-adapted mature leaves derived from each cultivar was measured in the laboratory at room temperature with the use of a portable p...

A SEPALLATA gene is involved in the development and ripening of strawberry (Fragaria×ananassa Duch.) fruit, a non-climacteric tissue*

Climacteric and non-climacteric fruits have traditionally been viewed as representing two distinct programmes of ripening associated with differential respiration and ethylene hormone effects. In climacteric fruits, such as tomato and banana, the ripening process is marked by increased respiration and is induced and co-ordinated by ethylene, while in non-climacteric fruits, such as strawberry a...
